Pokerstars 90 Billionth Hand Hits

I tried my best to hit the mega milestone hand by 28 tabling NL50. It was so intense as I tried to keep up with the action.

I lost $200 in no time at all before I started to get control a little. It the end I won it all back and ended even and of course missed the big one.

28 tabling is the devil...!!

The mega hand landed on a 6max NL200 table and all of the players won big especially m1sspiggy with a whopping $67k:

The Lame Min 3bet

This type of tiny or minimum 3bet really does price me in with pretty much any 2. If we pretend that he has a full stack he should be look at making a solid 3-4x sizing. As he is a shorty he can get away with less but his choice is still too small. As there is also an overcaller I will definitely call here with any 2.

Sometimes I will jam this turn but I don't think I have much fold equity versus the overcaller. With just over 30% equity I chose to flat and he got the worst card in the deck.

Run It Twice on Pokerstars Cash Games

Run It Twice (RIT) is now enabled on certain cash games on Pokerstars.

This should help reduce a bit of variance while only taking a couple of seconds longer. The rake is still the same when you RIT.

I'm going to give it a try and see how I get on.

When my whole stack is in the middle I usually get it in good so am open to and get a fair few beats every single day. During my recent 4 month downswing RIT could have helped me mentally when I was going a bit crazy.

The flip side is you are giving a chance to the villain to chop the pot when you are good. I will have to figure out if this run it twice is a good thing or not.

Here is how to select RIT:

Sometimes You Just Want To Gamble

Villain here is a solid reg but his squeeze is quite high at around 10% also his fold to 4bet is high at around 72% over a really big sample (close to 10k hands).

Normally I would fold here to his Jam but the cards looked so pretty. I'm hoping for an AK here as I would only be like a 60/40 dog but against an overpair I would be an 80/20 dog.

Clear Blue Sky - Followed By Ghosts - The Entire City Was Silent - 2007

I don't often list to music when grinding but when I do I like to choose something with as few words as possible.

This means I usually go for something like drum n bass or dance.

I have also used this type of music on occasion when winding down and reviewing my hands on holdem manager.

I used this relaxing track while watching my bad beats :)

Good to keep the mind mellow sometimes...

Nit Spew or Misclick?

I am really not sure wtf happened in this hand. A solid 11/9 nit opens 15x from the CO then jams over my raise:

Looks like a misclick followed by a 'F*** it' shove..!!

Its been a few days now since I wrote about my latest challenge which was to win 100 stacks in a month. Since that post you can probably guess what happened. Yes, I went on a mini downer (10 BIs) but I have pulled it all back and am pretty much where I was when I published the post:

Top 10 Tips for Blogging and Bloggers

When I started to blog I had no idea that I would get so many hits.

As the number of readers grew it was pretty clear that I needed to learn a little to keep it fresh and interesting.

Having had over 150,000 page views now there are a few tips that I can share with you guys that may help you to increase your blog views:

So, here are my Top 10 Tips:

1. Try to blog as often as possible.

It is very easy for a blog to die. I see so many blogs that start enthusiastically and have about 5 posts in the first 2 weeks then 1 or 2 posts the next month and then that's it. It is difficult to keep coming up with new material but if you want your blog to grow and become successful then keep writing and keep your readers coming back. If you blog once a month try to blog once a week. If you blog once a week try to blog 3 times a week. Carry on till you can get out 1 post a day.

2. Comment on other blogs.

If you comment on other blogs and interact with other bloggers then you will get noticed and people will discover you through the link back to your blogger profile. Don't spam posts with links to your website as they will get deleted and people don't like that. I get lots of companies spamming my posts and I delete all of them. There is a means for companies to get their links on my site and they know this but try to cheat.

You should also encourage commenting on your blog and try to reply to comments that people post whether they are negative or positive.

3. Give them vision.

We all like things to look at. Add images to your posts. Make them funny, make them quirky, make them relevant and this will make your site more attractive. Take a moment to make sure that the picture fits correctly within the text and is not too big or small. Use the alignment function to mix it up and have images on the left, in the centre and on the right as you see fit.

4. Create a blogroll.

Create a blogroll of the other blog in your niche that you read and like. This will give your readers more links to interesting material. The blogs owners who you list may also link you back in their roll so you may get additional readers.

5. Use tags.

Using tags will help you readers navigate to specific areas or types of your blog posts. I get a lot of readers who just want to see my monthly report on the number so I see the 'Monthly Review' tag clicked a lot. Even if you have archives or categories, tags offer more search aids to your viewers. You may also get more google traffic coming your way if you use tags.

6. Embrace social media.

I definitely need to work on this aspect more for supernova125. I rarely use twitter but hopefully will do more in the future. Add your link to your twitter profile and tweet your more interesting posts. Create a page for your blog in facebook and also add your link to your own personal profile page. Others that you can use include linkedin, myspace and bebo.

7. Use internal links.

When you have a number of interesting posts you sometimes cover an aspect in a new post without going into the detail which you have previously done. In this case it is good to link back to an older post to give the reader more detail. I am pretty bad at this but am trying to improve. For example I may talk about how my blog began and if I include a link to that then the viewer can start from post 1 and read on.

8. Share Popularity.

If you have 100 posts there will be a top 5 read. Share this section of popularity with your audience. I have incorporated my most popular posts for them to browse through on the sidebar. For some reason a post I wrote on the most sexiest female poker players has been by far my most read post ever on this blog with more than 10,000 hits.

9. Slice it nicely.

Poor formatting can really make reading a blog hard work. Cluttered, unattractive blogs don't encourage people to return just like if you visit a dirty bar or restaurant you will not return as you have had a bad experience. I see lots of terrible formatting and bad use of colours, fonts etc. Look at your blog objectively and ask yourself 'does it look professional?', 'does it look readable?' or is it just a mess. Make sure your pictures, graphs and sidebars all fit properly. Space you posts nicely.

10. Do it because you love it.

Write because you are passionate about your topic. I love playing poker everyday and I like to talk about it and write about it. Don't think that you will make money from your blog because only the top blogs will. While I have made 6 or 7 small adversing deals the total amount is less than $200 which is negligible. What I like about blogging is getting more readers and interacting with them. I have made quite a few contacts through the blog and hopefully will make more. When readers keep coming back I get satisfaction from that and hope that I can produce new, fresh, interesting material for the future.

Happy Blogging..!!

Micro Millions 3 Starts

Tournament Series Micro Millions 3 has just kicked off on Pokerstars.

This series is aimed at the micro stakes players of poker with some of the buy-ins as low as a 11 cents.

The guarantees in comparison are relatively large which is the attraction.

I played event #04 last night / early hours of this morning. It was a $3.30+R which means re-buys are allowed for the first hour along with an add-on in the break after the first hour. I insta got the double re-buy which means you start with double the chips. I also got the add-on, so my total investment was $9.30.

There were a huge 15,365 runners and prizes were as follows:

I managed to beat 91% of the field and finish in the top 1,500 and also in the 6th tier of money for $25.30.

I'm not sure how many more I will play but am looking forward to the Main Event which has a $1,000,000 guaranteed.

BBC Good Food Show, London Olympia

One of my favourite things in the world is food. The missus and I often watch Man vs Food for a few laughs.

The BBC Good Food Show has come to the London Olympia for a 3 day event so we got a couple of tickets and went down yesterday to see what it is all about.

This is the first one of these I have been so it was quite interesting.

You basically have 2 floors of around 150 stalls and small exhibitions where you can sample food and drink for around $25.

I was trying pretty much everything, so much so that there was no need for lunch as I was stuffed..!!

We also got to see a few of the BBC chefs that are always on TV: Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood, Rachel Allen and a special theatre show by Brian Turner who managed to set fire to firstly a paper and then the grill as well as the pans (this intentionally). We also saw booze dudes Olly Smith and Oz Clarke.

Here are a few of the stalls:

The size of the place can be seen here:

A Date With An Eight

A simply satisfying result: 1 day, 8 poker sessions, 8 wins. That is what I managed to achieve on this day and the month is now looking pretty good only 7 days in.

In other news the American presidential race is now over and Barack Obama has been re-elected for his second term which makes me happy. I can't say that I am a huge fan but I am glad Romney didn't get in as I am pretty sure that he would have been a disaster.

Romney visited the UK earlier during the year and said the we were 'not ready for the Olympics'. Well if the donk was watching he would have witnessed one of the best Olympics ever and the best ever Paralympics.

Looking through some of his foreign policy proposals and hearing some of the debate I think he would have been a serious war-mongerer and no good for peace across the planet. Glad he lost.

Anyway, enough politics already, back to the poker:

Back at Full Tilt Poker (FTP)

About to crai shove:

Easy with Play Moniez... :)

I have access to a 'Deal Me In' bonus of $750 so I have to decide if I should move some of my play over to FTP. I don't have TableninjaFT or know if HEM1 works with FTP or if I need an update. I will monitor traffic for the first few weeks and decide. I have 1 month to claim and begin clearing the bonus.

Three Quarters of the World

There's a little over 200 countries in the world and this Blog has now been read in over 150 nations. Pretty crazy for a little niche Blog to have such reach:

The First Four Days

The first four days of November have started quite well:

I lost a little today mainly due to my Aces being cracked to AQo All-In pre. That hand would have seen  me even for the day. Still a few hours to get back to even.

I am well on course to get to 200k VPPs this year however my target is 216k VPPs as this will see me cash another $1,600 bonus before year end. This 2nd target is going to be tough though..!!

In other news Full Tilt Poker is resuming business on November 6th under the stewardship of Pokerstars. I have re-activated my account but I won't be diving in straight away though. I will take a look at how the traffic, games, bonuses, rake and VIP program stack up before I decide.

While grinding I often get a lot of comments, mainly negative and abusive but a few nice ones too. This guy was typing out a text on a ZOOM Table when the hand changed. I'm not sure if he had finished his message:
