40/25 - New Part Time Poker System
Since I have been playing part time I have also switched to 6 tabling zoom and also mixing FR/6m vs 8 tabling FR. 6 tables fit perfectly on my 24" screen tiled so I can follow all the action and also have a bit of extra thinking time vs 8.
I want to basically try to play more quality vs the higher volume that I used to. Since I am playing like only an hour a day now I want to try to move up higher than I did before and with a more aggressive approach.
I cashed out most of my roll a couple of weeks ago and left only $2k in my Stars account. I will use this money to cover me while I hunt for a job.

I will try not too cash out again for a while and will now bring in my new 40/25 system into play. This is moving up at 40 BIs and down at 25 BIs.

So I am currently at NL50 zoom playing 4x FR + 2x 6m. When I hit $4k I will add NL100 back.

April 2014 Review
2nd worst month ever. I managed to claw back some of the losses and prevent worst month ever though after being more than $2k down on the felt :)
Going part time in April meant a very low volume month. This will also be the trend for May and onwards.
I am still hunting for a job as well as studying for an exam. The job hunt is going pretty badly and it looks like it will be very hard for me to bag a job.
The main problem is that what I am looking for is quite specific and there is lots of competition from high calibre candidates (who don't have a gap on their CV/resume). If I was going for an unskilled minimum wage kinda job then there would be so much more to choose from and I would have probably got something already but I'm not interested in that. There is more chance of me returning to poker than burger flipping :) Anyway, I will persevere for at least 3 more months before I need to re-evaluate.
My VPP goal for the year will now be 200k.

5 Time Supernova And Out........ Goodbye Poker
Just hit nova for the fifth year in a row..!!
Sadly I have also decided to pretty much quit poker and resurrect my previous career as an analyst/ accountant.
There are a few reasons for my choice, mainly a need to get a mortgage (a legit one I mean) which is not feasible as a poker player. I also miss the working atmosphere. Grinding poker can be a bit too quiet and isolated at times. I still love the game but not as much as when I was a recreational fish. I look forward to becoming a part time spewy whale again and tormenting the regs!!
I will play maybe every other day or so in the evenings for maybe an hour and a little on weekends but my daytimes will be spent job hunting and eventually working once I score a job. I have already had a couple if interviews and met a few recruitment consultants so hopefully I will find a role within a couple of months.
A big thanks to all of you that have followed me and supernova125, especially all of you that have commented. The blog is now over 4 years old and was certainly a fun thing to do. I am not sure if I will post again but maybe I will just throw out a monthly review and an odd hand history here and there, who knows...
I am still around on email, Twitter and Skype for those who would like to keep in touch.

March 2014 Review
Things are continuing to go reasonably well in 2014. I am winning for the 3rd month in a row.
The roll is building nicely and I hope to hit my bankroll target level in April and take a decent shot at NL200 with 10 BIs to lose before I drop back down. I need $1,300 more.
I also want to experiment with NL200z 6max a little more. I want to just play 2 tables in a few sessions and see how I get on.
As I move up I think it may be wise to start to cut down on tables/ volume and concentrate on quality. For example if I simply win 1 stack a day at 200 then that is like $6k in a month. I won over 60 stacks this month at smaller levels.

March To Date
Nothing too exciting so far in March. Up $3.2k with rakeback. I've played the easily worst poker all year this month and either spewed, bad bluffed or stupid called around $2k which is woeful. Target for the rest of the month is just to play super solid from now on.

February 2014 Review
The highlight was obviously having my new best day ever.
I am really comfortable now at NL100 but +/-$1k swings in a day are still a little much for my roll. I want to pad up another $5k or so before I take long shots at higher levels. So I expect to be at mainly NL100 for another couple of months.
