Off To See The Druids

I'm going to be spending some time in the Cotswolds. I will be leaving shortly.

The trip starts off with Stonehenge where there may be some modern day druids hanging around.

We then drive to Bath where we will be staying while we explore the Cotswolds....

Nice to get away from the Felt......

Microsoft .NET Framework - Unhandled Exception Has Occurred In Your Application

On Monday morning I was all set for an epic 5-day grind. With the missus away I had planned to smash out around 50k hands from Monday to Friday. Monday went well and it was quite late at night and I was already sitting on 5-digit hands for the day when I decided to fire up one more session.

I fired up HEM1 (Holdem Manager) and then BOOM:

SHIT...!!

I already had this same issue around 3 months ago and while I knew that it was fixable I also knew that dealing with HEM Support would take time, a lot of time..!! Last time it took over 3 days and this time it took almost 4 days, dealing with 5 different people. While the quality of support is generally good the response times are pretty poor.

So how does this issue affect me? Well there are 2 major problems: Firstly the live hands import crashes and does not import and secondly the HUD does not work properly and just displays nonsense.

While you can play relatively well HUD-less there are just too many spots (mainly co,btn,sb,bb wars) where I rely heavily on my HUD. I decided that I didn't want to play sub-optimally so I just dropped down and played some NL10/NL25 both 6-max & FR all ZOOM. I also played some Omaha for a laugh. Thinking about it now I could probably play better at the normal tables and I would not need a HUD as much as in ZOOM as the positions would not change and I could see and remember villains tendancies like in a live game.

Anyway, I now have learnt my lesson and this time I will be keeping all the notes and instructions to fix this problem. Next time I should be back up n running in around an hour. My month is pretty much over now as I am going away for 3 days shortly so I may just wrap things. Up +$3.6k month overall.

Nice Flop, Poor Bluff

Pretty sure villain should just crai jam the turn or give up on the river.

Oh, I Bet He's Mad

Poor bet sizing is the only reason that I am still in this pot. I'm still not getting the right odds for just the gutter but with my ace its close, so I call.

Never 3bet In 800 Hands - Scared To Call

I don't think I have ever seen this before. A guy who has not 3bet once in over 800 hands. I was genuinely scared to call. I would probably 4bet a lot of people here. Should I just fold to this small squeeze?

Bluff The River or Give Up??

I think this is quite an interesting hand in the sense that I could have played it in a variety of different ways. Firstly I can limp along for a cheap flop with position on all players. Secondly should I cbet this flop as the pre flop aggressor or is this the standard limp call with a weak ace from either fish? Should I give on the turn or flat/raise with a gut shot? And then the big dilemma that I had. I tanked a bit on the river and I know tanking could give out a tell depending on how long it is. Should I bluff this river?

March 2013 Review

March was a bit annoying in the sense that I won stacks but broke even $$ wise. In a nutshell I won at all stakes up to and including NL50 but I lost at the business end which is NL100/NL200. Wish it was the other way round :p  The positive that I take from March is that I put in a lot of volume at NL100 and I happy that I can eventually beat that level.

Won Stacks but Lost $$

The final numbers for March are as follows:

178,284 Hands Played
27,109 VPPs
94,882 FPPs

-$135 (Cash Game Losses)
+$300 (Stellar Rewards)
-$524 (Tournament Losses)
+$105 (SCOOP Tickets)
+$20 (Live Cash Game Winnings)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
-$235 (Total Month)

The Ytd numbers are as follows:

461,910 Hands Played
63,073 VPPs
220,756 FPPs

+$5,271 - Jan
+$2,064 - Feb
-$235 - Mar
--------------------------------------------------------------------
+$7,101 (Total Year)

All the best for April....
