Rigged............. Obviously

Online Poker and Poker in general must be rigged, surely???

We hear it all the time and at least one person at the tables will start making comments of this nature after taking a bad beat, pretty much everyday.

I was waiting for the usual flood of comments after this hand..... but shockingly they never materialised.

Maybe players are coming to terms with their bad beats and learning some serious tilt control.

Take it like a pro....!!

  1. Why didn't UTG+1 backraise pre? It's dangerous enough to allow the opportunity for a multiway pot when you have KK in EP, but it can be acceptable if you're keeping UTG's range wider and the rest of the table dynamics allow for it.

But once there's a squeeze and the open raiser calls, it's criminal to flat this rather than throw in a 4b and try to get it in.

I'm also curious to know your thoughts on 3b/squeezing QQ. Is it an auto 3b for you or does it require a certain villain or circumstance to 3b?

  2. UTG+1 missed a trick there, definitely...!!

Almost everything I do is villain dependent. These 2 villains both had low 4bet stats and high fold to 3bet stats.

That allows me to squeeze here more comfortably. If I call and an Ace or King appears on the flop I need to find out where I'm at.

Even though I had the button I prefer to 3bet squeeze here

  3. Wouldn't a high fold to 3b be more of an argument to flat? If you 3b, he's only continuing with his strongest range and then presumedly plays very profitably post (ditching when he misses and continuing when he hits jackpot).

You tend to lose a lot of value from villains who would overvalue an overpair or barrel with a single overcard showing. It's definitely tricky when an A or K hits, but that's going to freeze action or make things awkward regardless.

That said, I'd be more apt to squeeze when there are one or two callers rather than there just being a single raiser. Of course, this all worked out beautifully for you, but I'm always curious to know people's thoughts on squeezing or 3betting with JJ or QQ, as it's a tricky situation both in and out of position when trying to maximize EV.

  4. Who ru? and do u coach?

When I squeeze this I am also considering the possible actions of the blinds who were yet to act. If I flat with QQ and both blinds call I will then find myself in a 5-way pot with the button but with a huge chance of being way behind on the flop

  5. I'm a nobody with a fairly breakeven graph (mostly due to execution rather than lack of knowledge). So no, I do not coach.

I just like to analyze certain spots and find the majority of 2+2 to be tedious and/or too leveling/inside jokey for my liking.

  6. You're right, you have to spend a lot of time reading between the lines when lookin thru strat posts on 2+2
