A Late Rally

March = Bad Month at the Tables
March = Stuck

However we have a late rally. 2 days to go and a chance to get in the black. Would be nice to have a repeat of the last 2:

The 5 Cent Fold

I really can't believe this actually happened. Pretty sure he didn't want to show his air bluff and it wasn't a misclick.

Irish Poker and Badugi

I've been mixing it up the last few weeks with a few new games.

Firstly I tried Badugi which is a form of draw poker where you target getting the nut low A,2,3,4 but with all different suits. I played a little bit over a couple of days then went onto the WBCOOP event of this format. While I did okay on the cash tables the tourni went pretty bad and I was out quite quickly. I don't really like Badugi that much so it will be a very occasional foray.

The 2nd game is one which I really like. It is Irish Poker and it is like a mix of Omaha and NLHE. The game plays out in a similar fashion to holdem but you start with four cards. The pre flop and flop betting is based on your four card holding. After the flop bet you discard 2 cards and play out the turn and river as in holdem and the winning combo and hand rankings are the same as NLHE too.

I used my free $10 game ticket on Fult Tilt poker and have only played a little so far but have enjoyed it. Iv'e only played the $2 and $5 tables but I am up like 9 BIs already. GG.

How Whales Play Sets

As I spend a little more time at NL100 FR ZOOM I am gradually figuring out who is who. I was in a hand here with 2 unknowns. By then end of my session I noticed that they were both playing a 40+ VPIP over a decent sample and they both received the dreaded 'yellow' tag:

I raise my AK and stack off pre 100% of the time vs yellow tags.

New Mix Of ZOOM Games

I have been trying a few new mixes of ZOOM games as a few new levels are now receiving volume.

My old mix for ages was 4x NL25 FR, 4x NL50 FR and 1x NL100 6-max.

Now I am running 2 mixes:

Off Peak Time: 2x NL100 FR, 1x NL100 6-max and 4x NL50 FR
Peak Time: 4x NL100 FR and 4x NL50 FR

So far it is not off to the best start but I have run pretty bad. I will trial this for the next week and see how it goes.

WBCOOP 2013 Round-Up

So I think I definitely spent more time playing tournaments this month than ever before. I added lots of others alongside the WBCOOP events and didn't win anything of note. I am way behind on cash games as I was playing far less of those alongside MTTs. I think I may give WBCOOP a miss next time as the prizes are too small and divert valuable time away from my main poker activities.

It was a fun series nevertheless and at the start of the ME I had a shot at the top of the leader board if I finished 1st lol. With 1,009 runners I made 49th after a huge bad beat on the river with my chips in good on the flop (standard MTTs).

I made 5 cashes (tickets) out of 10 events and cashed in the main too. I finished somewhere like 45th on the overall leader board.

A fun series for micro bloggers really but maybe not worthwhile for higher stake players.

200,000 Page Views + WBCOOP Leader Board

It doesn't seem that long ago that I was passing six figures in views. That took over 2 years to get to but the 2nd ton has only taken around 10 months which means readers have got up.

Thanks to all of you for reading and supporting supernova125..!!

In proper news now I only have 2 tickets left in WBCOOP and the current leader board looks like this:

If you look closely you will not find me on this as I am sitting on 110 Points. I am looking for a deep run in 1 or both to get me a chance at a shot at a top 3 finish which has some nice prizes.

I am not sure if tomorrows final has leader board points too or is only for the cash prizes but that will be fun and conclude a pretty enjoyable series..!!

13th In WBCOOP Event 22: PLO

I've just had another deep run in WBCOOP which should take me up a little in the Leaderboard standings.

The last hand was sick. I had the guy all-in on the flop wit a massive hand and he sucked out big style:

Creeping Up The Black

One week into March and things are rolling along pretty slowly. While I am really enjoying playing the WBCOOP series of events, it is really affecting my cash game volume.

I am finding mixing both formats a little more tricky as I try to make good decisions on the tournament tables. I have also thrown in a few extra regular tournis too. This means less hands have been played on the cash tables.

Once WBCOOP is over on Monday I will need to step up my pace to make sure that I am ahead of the 200k VPP tracker on April 3rd as that is when Pokerstars pace bonus will be assessed.

So far I am ahead of the marker but have been dropping very close to the mark as you can see here:

As far as cash games are going, I am in the black and creeping up very slowly:

3rd Place In WBCOOP Event #13 4-Max NLHE

I have just had my best ever MTT finish. So am I rich???, sadly no as it was on a freeroll with tiny prizes. It was a lot of fun though and I really enjoyed having a shot at a title.

So close....

Here's the Final Table:

95 Billionth Hand Drops on Pokerstars

I am still yet to hit one milestone hand. This time it was the road to 95 billion hands and I played a mix of NL50/NL100 to try and hit one but failed again.

I didn't get that excited this time as I realise the chances are pretty slim. The real value in this promo is probably the fact that lots of recreational players jump in and make the games a bit better for like 5 days.

With the last 4 milestones about to pop I fired up 20 tables of NL50 and hoped for the best. About 90 minutes later the big one was about to drop and it did at an NL16 FR table.

There was some funny drama as one player disconnected and Stars could not contact him. He was given 30 minutes but failed to come back so they ran the hand.

The Prizes were as follows:

I just played this big tournament yesterday.

6th - $181,376
7th - $117,303
8th - $85,759
9th - $62,101

Is Party Poker Now Rigging Their Lobby?

There some pretty shocking reports coming out about Party Poker and other sites now apparently controlling what tables players have access to based on their winrate. They are basically trying to get regs to play regs and fish to play fish.

I will definitely boycott any site that does this.

There are a few reports on some forums and this clip seems to show it in action:

February 2013 Review

I just finished watching Argo, pretty good film but not as good as everyone says. Its got a rating of 8 on IMDB but I would go for 6.9 :)

I'm not playing any serious poker today and having the rest of the night off.

I played 3 micro stakes 'timed' tournaments today just for fun. There is not too much strategy in these but they are a good laugh.

Feb was not looking too bad going into the last week, I was eyeing a +$4k month but then I took a big dive at the tables and lost all my winnings :(

I played similar games to last month, a mix from NL25-NL200 with both FR and 6-max.

The final numbers for February are as follows:

123,867 Hands Played
16,979 VPPs
59,427 FPPs

+$27 (Cash Game Winnings)
+$1,600 (FPP Cash Bonus)
+$200 (Stellar Rewards)
-$44 (Stake Swaps)
+$319 (Tournament Winnings)
-$38 (Live Cash Losses)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
+$2,064 (Total Month)

The Ytd numbers are as follows:

283,626 Hands Played
35,964 VPPs
125,874 FPPs

+$5,271 - Jan
+$2,064 - Feb
--------------------------------------------------------------------
+$7,335 (Total Year)

All the best for March....
